Kathy Durham (MIAMI/REGENT BANK) has been appointed as the Vice Chair of FBCF. She is the Market Manager of Regent Bank. She began her career in Operations, Mortgage in 1973 and has gone on to work in the areas of business development, marketing, customer relations, and soliciting prospects to increase market share. She was appointed to the South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners and serves as Secretary/Treasurer. Kathy is past president of the David/Cooper City Chamber of Commerce and Past President of North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Durham is a breast cancer survivor. Deb Haggerty (ORLANDO) is the Chair-Board of Directors of FBCF, as well as on the Board of FBCC, and is an 10 year breast cancer survivor. As a graduate of Project LEAD, she has served as a consumer reviewer for the DoD Breast Cancer Research Project for several years and last year was honored to co-chair one of the panels at the Era of Hope. Deb is the creator of www.PositiveHope.com, a website designed to encourage women with breast cancer who want to control their own healthcare and family and friends who want to support them on their journeys. James R. Konschnik is the President & Chief Executive Officer of FBCF. He brings a wealth of knowledge and his extensive 14 years of background in business, advocacy, fundraising, and community relations to the organization. Mr. Konschnik has worked with local/state legislators in Tallahassee and Washington, DC on advocacy issues. He has participated in Annual Lobby Day for breast cancer in Washington D.C. He is also a graduate of Project Lead ®. Mr. Konschnik is now dedicating his not-for-profit skills to working to end breast cancer. He is implementing new strategies to raise awareness of the statewide organization behind the End Breast Cancer license plate, as well as increasing funding for education and research throughout the state. He is very passionate about his position as CEO at Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, because breast cancer has affected his family. Dori Mirkow (COCONUT CREEK) is the secretary of FBCF. For the past seventeen years, Dori has owned and operated her own accounting company. Dori's mother, Beth Liotta, a nurse, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and then went through two months of daily radiation therapy. Fortunately, her cancer was caught in the earlier stages, so her prognosis remains optimistic. Dori remains actively involved in numerous breast cancer charity events. You can be sure that Dori, her office staff, and some of her distributors are always ready, willing and able to lend a helping hand when it comes to being involved with anything having to do with raising funds or awareness for breast cancer. Lowell Rush (BIJOUX TERNER/MIAMI) is treasurer for FBCF. He is a seasoned and successful CFO with more than 25 years of financial management experience, driving corporate financial strategies, operational systems and organizational direction. He is a CPA with an MBA degree, Big-4 accounting firm experience, as well as financial management positions in such firms as Knight-Ridder, Burger King, Sunglass Hut, Rewards Network, Little Switzerland, and currently, Bijoux Turner. Jane Torres is the co-founder of the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition (FBCC), Immediate Past President of the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition Foundation (FBCF) and a breast cancer advocate since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994. Jane is a graduate of Project LEAD®, the National Breast Cancer Coalition's innovative training program for breast cancer activists. In addition to her work with FBCF, Jane is President of Catalyst international, Inc., a consulting company specializing in human resource developments and cross-cultural communication. She is also a Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Miami, Florida. |
