“Breast Cancer Board Awarded Grant”

North Miami, FL (July 1, 2012) - The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF) is proud to announce receipt of a grant of $8,500 from the Community Foundation of Broward. 

 

Florida Breast Cancer Foundation will use the grant to support growth opportunities for the board of directors, including but not limited to:    Consultant time and fees for development projects, implementation of video -conferencing technologies, development of a board-only web portal, as well as other ambassador tools for all board members, i.e. business cards, travel stipends etc. ”The Boards in Action Program has proven to be the venue to do such work, and it will continue with this grant award.  After many hours of investment on behalf of all our board members we thank the Community Foundation of Broward for making the entire process available and providing up the opportunity to receive this grant”, said Kathy Durham FBCF Board Chair.

 

Breast Cancer in the United States has the fourth highest presence in Florida, with 2,730 fatalities a year in the State. FBCF’s Board of Director’s must have the tools necessary to logistically and systematically guide the organization to new levels of growth
