Federally qualified health centers,  (FQHC) including community health centers

FQHC Health centers provide primary medical and dental care to people of all ages, whether or not they have health insurance. Services are provided on a sliding fee scale, based on  ability to pay.    All of the centers may not offer all services   You may want to find a health center near you and call them to see if they can schedule an appointment with a physican or nurse practioner.   You should tell them when you call about your financial status and explain that you want to receive a mammogram.  Most will require that you see a doctor. These clinics are open to everyone and are based on a sliding scale for fees.  If the clinic that you call does not provide the services you need, ask them to refer you to one of their clinics that do.  Most of the community health plans have  multiple sites.
