"Komen Breast Care Program at Florida Hospital”
Orange, Osceola - Screening
This program promotes early detection of breast cancer among uninsured and low-income women, primarily ages 40-49. It provides access to screenings and diagnostic mammograms with a large emphasis on black women, as well as breast MRI’s and biopsies for women who have abnormal results from their screenings. There is also an education component for the women this program will serve.

“Osceola Women’s Breast Health Initiative”
Osceola – Screening 
This program will further address the need for breast health services for women either uninsured, or low-income among a highly diverse population in Osceola County. Program services will include breast health education, clinical breast exams, and screenings for women between the ages of 40-49.

“The Ribbon Riders Breast Cancer Assistance Project”
Central Florida – Financial Assistance
This program helps breast cancer patients with immediate needs and the crushing financial costs of fighting breast cancer. It offers direct financial assistance with rent, utilities, gasoline, medical, travel expenses, co-pays, groceries and other immediate needs so that patients can focus on recovery.

Volusia/Flagler, Brevard and Lake – Screening and Diagnosis
This program provides state of the art mammography services to a rual, economically disadvantaged population of diverse ethnicities, offering screening and diagnostic services to uninsured and underinsured women whose healthcare needs would otherwise, in all likelihood, be unmet. If indicated, follow up care will be provided by a network of specialists

Care Center for the Homeless”

Orange, Osceola, and Seminole– Screening and Diagnosis
This program seeks to break down barriers faced by low income and/or uninsured female patients in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties by providing breast health services which assure earlier detection of issues, needed care up to and including surgery and assistance in navigating the health system. The targeted population of this program is those residents with incomes below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Libby's Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation
“CSI: Cancer Screening Initiative”
Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Volusia and Lake Counties– Education, Screening and Diagnosis
The purpose of this program is to break down barriers and provide comprehensive breast health services to Central Florida by offering free screening and diagnostic mammograms and follow-up services to uninsured and underinsured women who reside in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Volusia and Lake Counties. Particular emphises is placed upon minority women who have historically been underserved.

Lake County
This program's purpose is to increase awareness of the importance of early detection of breat cancer, provide free screening and diagnostic mammograms and comprehensive education and support services to women in Lake County, primarily South Lake County. The targeted population is those 40-49 years of age who are underseved and uninsured, with incomes at or below 200% of Federal Government Poverty Guidelines and the inability to pay for breast health services.

KOMEN NORTH FLORIDA

Since 1994, Komen North Florida has raised over $4 million with over $2.72 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects, and $1,142,178 in national research grants.  These programs include:

 

KOMEN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (Charlotte, Collier, Lee, Hendry, & Volusia Counties) 

Cancer Alliance of Naples – Brief Summary of the Grant: CAN’s mission is to make the lives of individuals who are touched by cancer easier by paying non-medical bills to free up finances for medical treatment. 

Family Heath Centers – Brief Summary of the Grant: Jessie Trice Breast Cancer Prevention Project provides education, risk assessment, screening mammograms and diagnostic services aimed at early detection of breast cancer in uninsured/underinsured, low-income women from African-American and Hispanic communities.

Friendship Centers – Brief Summary of the Grant: The “Cancer Doesn’t Wait” program provides uninsured/underinsured women ages 50-64 with clinical breast exams, screening and diagnostic mammograms, and follow-ups as well as resources and education.

Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida – Brief Summary of the Grant: This grant funds breast health education, mammograms and diagnostic procedures for underinsured/uninsured women for whom no other funding is available.

Lee Memorial Regional Cancer Center – Brief Summary of the Grant: The Breast CARE Program will provide uninsured/underinsured individuals diagnosed with breast cancer accress to diagnostics and treatment (chemotherapy, radiation and surgery), genetic testing, and breast health education and navigation.

Lymphedema Resources – Brief Summary of the Grant: This grant provides lymphedema therapy and compression garments as well as lymphedema education and awareness.

NCH Healthcare System – Brief Summary of the Grant: The NCH Breast Health Program provides uninsured/underinsured individuals with clinical breast exams, mammograms, diagnostics (radiology services), treatment, and breast health education/navigation.

Neighborhood Health Clinic – Brief Summary of the Grant: The clinic provides healthcare for working, low-income, uninsured adults needing clinical breast exams, screening, mammograms, diagnostic testing, staging procedures, and follow-up care.

Partners for Breast Cancer Care – Brief Summary of the Grant: The organization provides funding for improved early detection through no-cost mammograms, diagnostic testing, case management and education.

Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic – Brief Summary of the Grant: The Breast Heath Partnership program provides diagnostic mammograms as well as other diagnostic services to financially eligible Charlotte County residents. Community outreach and breast cancer support groups are provided by the breast health navigator.

 Broward Health’s Every Woman Matters (EWM) will provide screening mammograms and diagnostic testing to uninsured and underinsured Black women and Women who Partner with Women. Florida Keys Area Health Education Center, Inc. Marathon, Fl

Keys AHEC will provide exams, educational programming and mammogram vouchers to uninsured/underinsured adult populations of Monroe County. Breast exams by AHEC medical personnel will include referral and follow-up services.  Additionally Keys AHEC will work with local providers and hospitals to develop resources and programs inclusive of diagnostic and treatment services.

                  The Komen program will provide underserved, Black communities with individual breast health

education, clinical breast exams and mammograms in hope of reducing late stage breast cancer diagnosis through early detection and access regardless of individual documentation status or lack of financial resources. Target community focuses on providing treatment for uninsured/underinsured black
