We had an overwhelming response to our recent request for volunteers to serve on our Central Florida Planning Committee and exceeded our goal of 15 committee members. Our sincerest thanks goes out to all of the incredible committee members who each bring a unique perspective and highly valuable assets to the committee and organization.
The committee is chaired by Jeri Francoeur, Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF) Board Director and Advocacy Chair, and represents a diverse and wide cross-section of the community. Other committee members include: Dr. Annette Khaled, Ashana Prashad, Bonnie Kelly, Cheryl Outlin, Debbie Horn, Denise London, Eileen Leuthner, Karinne Donis Wright, Paul Francoeur, Risha Beharrysingh, Robbin Lynette Jones, Skylar Gibson, Terlisa Sheppard, Valencia Robinson and Venessa Grullon.
The Committee had its first meeting on July 23rd at FBCF’s Central Florida Regional Office in the Oviedo Mall. We had a great turnout, with thirteen out of the sixteen committee members in attendance. Also in attendance were staff members on the committee, Chabiram Rampersad, Administrative Manager of the Central Florida Office and Interim President and CEO, John Capurso. John shared with the committee the board’s strategic plan, vision and core values, and about future directions of the organization and the Central Florida region. The discussion focused on ways to increase visibility and disseminate information in Central Florida, and in particular, how to raise funds around National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. The committee members were excited, filled with excellent ideas and committed to doing whatever is necessary to ensure the growth and success of the FBCF Central Florida Office. The next Planning Committee meeting will be held on August 15th.
Our very special thanks and appreciation to these very dedicated and committed volunteers for serving on this committee and supporting FBCF in this valuable and meaningful way. They are helping us to fulfill our mission and make a significant difference in the lives of those in need in Central Florida. Without the help, support, dedication, and commitment of volunteers like these, we would be unable to do the important work we do!
We are always looking for committed volunteers who are willing to join us in this important cause – especially as we approach National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. If you are interested in helping out and volunteering with us, or have any questions, please email Chabiram Rampersad at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 321-972-5534 and we will get back to you with additional details and information about volunteer opportunities available. We would be delighted to have your help and support and look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks again to our wonderful FBCF Central Florida Planning Committee!
