The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF) is proud to fund educational projects such as the University of Florida Board of Trustees' BE AWARE (Breast Education to Advance Women’s Awareness of Risk and to Empower) program. Through funding provided from FBCF's Education Grants, the team at UCF created a website and mobile application to empower women and men who are at higher-than-average risk for breast cancer to improve their knowledge about breast cancer and screenings. This approach will help women and men gain access to critical information about their individual risks, and to encourage screenings to increase earlier detection, translating to improved survival outcomes--ultimately saving lives.
