The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF) is offering Direct Service grants for two pilot programs to be administered in Broward County and to 10 counties in the Central Florida region.
In reponse to the changing and growing needs of the breast cancer community, we are proud to implement the much-needed Direct Service pilot programs in the two areas of the state. After months of careful planning and consideration by FBCF staff and our Direct Service Task Force Committee, which included leaders from local nonprofit organizations and representatives from county health departments in the selected regions, we evaluated each area’s needs and the most critical in each of the communities were chosen to be addressed through the Direct Service pilot grants.
Grants in Central Florida will be awarded to organizations to provide living expenses to individuals in active treatment for breast cancer who live within the designated counties. The 10 counties served will be (with the following funds available for each county):
Alachua County ($1500 available)
Brevard County ($4500 available)
Flagler County ($1000 available)
Lake County ($3000 available)
Marion County ($3000 available)
Orange County ($7000 available)
Osceola County ($2500 available)
Seminole County ($3000 available)
Sumter County ($1000 available)
Volusia County ($3500 available
A minimum of 3 organizations will be provided grants of no more than $10,000 each to provide Tomosynthesis (3D) Diagnostic Mammograms. The aim is to reach as many people as possible. Grants are available for services that take place over a 12-month period.
