To improve the lives of those in Florida with breast cancer and give hope where there is none.
We value integrity. We believe in evidence-based science. We advocate with perseverance, compassion, and respect for those who have no voice. We are passionate about our mission.
Save lives of those impacted by breast cancer by supporting scientific research, community education, public policy through advocacy, and community-based organizations.
To end the suffering caused by breast cancer.
Scientific Research: Only through research will breast cancer be defeated and FBCF continues to challenge the scientific community to design innovative research that will foster new directions for, address neglected issues in, and bring new investigators to the field of breast cancer research. FBCF focuses its funding on research projects that have the potential to make a significant impact on breast cancer, and aims to fund projects that are innovative and reflect a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach. Grants are awarded to institutions after rigorous review by respected members of the scientific community.
Education: Ensuring Floridians receive the proper breast cancer education is one of the fundamental pillars of the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation's mission. Grants are provided to nonprofit community-based organizations to:
Advocacy: Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF) works statewide to raise awareness and mobilize Floridians to ensure sufficient public funding for breast cancer research, and quality health care for all without fear of discrimination in an environment free of carcinogens. In collaboration with other organizations, FBCF educates legislators regarding important issues surrounding women's health. Each year, FBCF strongly advocates for continuous and sufficient funding for the Mary Brogan Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP) in Florida which provides annually more than 15,000 low-income, medically underserved Florida women access to cancer screenings and diagnostic testing services.
Direct Service: FBCF supports the needs of Florida's most vulnerable and under-served communities by providing Direct Service Grants to Florida nonprofits. Grants provide access to mammograms for women who cannot afford them and financial support to those in need during breast cancer treatment.
Support Resources: FBCF understands it may be overwhelming to find support resources when faced with a breast cancer diagnosis. Although FBCF does not provide funds or direct services, FBCF has dedicated staff to provide guidance to breast cancer patients and their families in need of support, such as medical services, financial support, or emotional support, among other needs.
Dedicated to Ending the Suffering Caused by Breast Cancer Through Research, Education, Advocacy, and Direct Services.
